Zombie Joker Costume

Postby Modern on Sat Jun 26, 2010 10:33 pm

My family have decided to do the Brighton Zombie Walk http://www.myspace.com/beachofthedead this October, which is awesome as I love zombies.
We've decided to dress up as zombies as you do, and last year there were some really original and authentic costumes, complete with prosthetic wounds and contact lenses, so I decided to have a costume that really stands out this year. I was thinking zombie batman, or zombie punk, but it wouldn't be as cool, and so I thought "Hey, wouldn't it be cool to be a zombie joker, with a decaying smile and creepy contacts?", and so, that is what I have chosen to do.

The Look
I want my costume to be based around the original joker-ish, or preferable the Batman: Arkham Asylum one as I found him scariest, also cause Mark Hamill is a legend: Image
The slicked back or tousled green hair, completely pallid skin, darkened eyes and big red smile (without being too much like Heath Ledger's Joker) is what I'm aiming for. I also want to make it zombified obviously, so I should possible make the face a little dirtier or use some form of liquid latex to make the lips seem decayed and/or bloody.
I've already hunted down the contact lenses I think I should use: http://www.coloured-contact-lens.co.uk/product/zombie_eye_catchers/ as these will add to the zombie look.

I'll hopefully, progressively update this and I hope to carry this out to the full. Discuss and such. Please don't shit this thread up though.

You should do a lot of work with the liquid latex. His face is full of imperfections and scars it looks like, so you'll need to get them on there! Uhm, what else... Oh, yeah you need to make it obvious that you're a zombie version, so I'm assuming you'll use the typical purple jacket etc. but how about having a rip in your shirt with a humungous wound or something to show that you're pretty dead?

Agreed, I don't want to overdo the facial work though.
I asked around on /cgl/, the cosplay board on 4chan, and I got quite a good answer:

Prosthetics?
I doubt I will do the chin though.
I might do a Ledger/Original combination costume.
Think we have a big purple draped blazer upstairs too.
